Asian equity markets kicked off Wednesday trade mostly higher but the mood was cautious as investors digested a deluge of Chinese economic data.
The world's second-largest economy grew 7 percent on year in the April-June period, unchanged from the previous quarter but slightly better than Reuters estimates for a 6.9 percent rise.
Meanwhile, June industrial output jumped an annual 6.8 percent, beating forecasts for 6 percent growth, while retail sales rose an annual 10.6 percent last month, also above view.
