Share markets in China opened down more than 6 percent
early Tuesday, while the rest of Asia turned mixed as investors digested news
of a rebound in the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures, whichopened up more
than 100 points Monday evening in the US. Futures for both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 advanced as well.
However, it was a grim picture overnight, with major US stock indexes slumping almost 4 percent each.
The S&P 500 lost 3.94 percent to end formally in correction territory, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite closed down 3.57 and 3.82 percent, respectively.
